To make a successful objection to your Municipality’s General Valuation Roll, you will need a valuation report. Obtaining a free valuation report won’t stand in court. As the leading expert in property valuation, DDP can assist you in providing a credible valuation report to make a successful objection in three easy steps.
You have received your valuation report and would like to continue with the objection process. The next step is to complete the correct objection form based on the type of property(s) you own. You may object to any information displayed on the GV Roll, as long as you are able to support your objection. It is up to you, as the objector, to prove that the market-value assessment is wrong.
Make sure the following information is included in your form to confirm your objection is based on factual evidence:
• Correct property details and the description
• Correct property size
• Registered owner’s name, surname and contact details
• Market value of property
Should you require further assistance with the objection process, DDP can submit your objection on your behalf at the Municipality. An additional fee of R1000 will be required. Proof of delivery will be sent to the property owner.
Please note that DDP can only assist with the objection of properties where the Objector obtained a valuation report from DDP.
You have received the outcome of the objection process and would like to launch an appeal. If you need assistance regarding the appeal process and representation of your appeal in court, DDP can assist you at an additional fee.
Please note that DDP can only assist with the appeal process once feedback from the objection process is received and the Objector is unsatisfied with the outcome. The Objector must obtain a valuation report from DDP.
